Where I’m From
I am from a small red brick house
From a large leaning oak in the front yard
From stone walkway and two wet noses pressed against the glass of the front door
From wagging tails and whines of enjoyment
I am from a family of four
From my mom and my dad
From my sister
From being able to hear anyone in any room of the house if they yell loud enough
I am from a cattle skull mounted above the mantle
From my southwest crazed parents
From love found in the desert
From Aloe Vera plants
From cacti littering the back porch
I am from faith
From crosses
From family photos hung up on the wall
From memories held in picture frames
I am from the place I call home
From a place filled with family and love.
